Industry Ready DeKalb
Decide DeKalb Development Authority launched the inaugural pre-apprenticeship program, Industry Ready DeKalb, with 11 DeKalb County School District seniors this year to help define a career pathway in manufacturing, allow students to experience training and the workforce without college debt, and provide a secure system for employment in rewarding careers after high school.

PepsiCo, Sugar Bowl Bakery and House of Cheatham were three district businesses that proudly participated in this eight-week program held at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. The program focused on two high-demand pathways, machine operation and industrial maintenance. Machine operators can earn a median wage between $18.58 abd $25.41 per hour (2022) and industrial maintenance technicians can earn up to $28.59 per hour (2022).

This is a fantastic opportunity that these students were able to experience with our incredible members.

It’s that time of year again to celebrate Tucktoberfest at Tucker Brewing! The 7th annual event kicks off on September 21 and brews through October 6.
Inspired by the Germans in Munich, Tucktoberfest brings traditional Oktoberfest festivities to Tucker with stein holding competitions, decorations, family-friendly games, polka bands and German-inspired menu items.
Don’t forget your lederhosen, and head down to Tucker Brewing to try their classic Marzen Lager for weekslong fall fun.

The family-owned business houses more than 3,000 designs and products in its 200,000 square foot facility and can cut orders within 24 hours for wholesale and distribution customers all along the eastern seaboard.

We are fortunate to have such a variety of businesses in our district, making a great economic impact on the City of Tucker, DeKalb County and the state of Georgia.
Super Tech LEDs
Tucker Summit CID is the home of SuperTech LEDs, Georgia’s hub for LED signs, office lighting, outdoor lighting, residential lighting and automobile lighting. The 2,000 square-foot Tucker facility is located at 1929 Mountain Industrial Boulevard. Family-owned and operated, the Tucker location of SuperTech LEDs was founded by father and son, Sunny and Sam Manji in 2019.
“My experience with the Tucker Summit Community Improvement District has been a very positive one,” said Sam Manji. “Much of my life, I have been in Tucker, so there was no doubt that this place is where we wanted to open our store. We are a small family-owned store in Tucker that started a year before the pandemic and had very hard time staying open during that time. But like every business we got through the hardship and stayed open till this date in Tucker. The Tucker community has always been there to support us and guide us in things that we might be doing wrong. So for me, Tucker is the best place to do business. Sending Love from the Super Tech LEDs family in Tucker.”

The best way to keep your home and business safe is to keep your property well-lit. Be sure to visit our website to learn more about the district’s lighting program and fill out the petition to sign up your commercial property for additional street lighting.
