Mountain Industrial Boulevard Interchange Improvements
Work is moving forward on the Mountain Industrial Boulevard interchange improvement project, which aims to increase safety and reduce accidents at this busy intersection. The City of Tucker is in the final stages of acquiring the necessary right-of-way, while environmental documents and roadway plans are being completed.
Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2026 and will be funded primarily through the Georgia Department of Transportation.
This significant project will impact traffic and local businesses during construction. Stay tuned for updates, as TSCID is committed to keeping our community informed every step of the way.

Keeping Tucker Summit Clean and Beautiful
Tucker Summit CID is dedicated to keeping the Mountain Industrial Boulevard Corridor and surrounding district areas free of trash, illegal signs, graffiti and more to ensure a welcoming environment. Along with regular landscaping maintenance, the CID actively addresses litter and illegal dumping while partnering with businesses and property owners to help prevent trespassing and dumping of illegal waste.
These ongoing efforts are central to TSCID’s mission to elevate property values and make the district an incredible place for organizations, corporations and entrepreneurs to do business.
This month, Southern Care Lawn and Landscape helped refresh key areas within the CID, keeping Tucker Summit looking its best for business and property owners.
On S. Royal Atlanta Drive, crews removed trash and debris from an illegal dumping site between buildings, improving both safety and appearance.

Along Mountain Industrial Boulevard, one of the district’s busiest roadways, they treated and removed weeds, pruned bushes and installed fresh pine straw to enhance curb appeal.

A recent news report revealed that residents in Tucker are waiting longer for emergency services, highlighting gaps in the current system and the urgent need for change.
To better understand these challenges, Tucker-Northlake CID initiated a public safety study, with TSCID and other local organizations joining as funding partners. The study explores how forming a city police department could improve response times, keep officers closer to businesses and neighborhoods, and provide local oversight for 911 services and policing. The study is now complete and available at protecttucker.org.
Your voice matters. Please take a few minutes to complete the public safety survey and share your experiences. Your feedback will help guide county and city leaders as we work to make Tucker one of the safest, most responsive communities in metro Atlanta.

Keeping workers safe starts from the ground up — and Vulcan Safety Shoes, TSCID member located on Hugh Howell Road, is leading the way.
Vulcan recently partnered with DeKalb Sanitation and Beautification to bring its mobile boot store directly to sanitation lots across the County, ensuring every team member has access to durable, protective footwear designed for the demands of long hours and tough working conditions.
As part of National Workers’ Health and Safety Month, this effort highlights the importance of proper footwear in preventing workplace injuries and promoting overall safety. By making safety gear more accessible, Vulcan Safety Shoes is helping to create a safer, healthier environment for workers while supporting our local business community.

TSCID recently toured WinCup, a valued member business with two locations in the district off Lewis Road. WinCup manufactures cups, cutlery and straws for dining establishments nationwide.
The tour was attended by representatives from the City of Tucker, Decide DeKalb, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Southern Company, underscoring WinCup’s role as a key economic driver in the region. The company currently employs 200 people and could add more jobs if the plant expands production to include cup lids.
WinCup recently launched phade®, an innovative line of biodegradable products. Currently available as drinking straws, phade® items break down much faster than traditional plastics, providing a more sustainable option for consumers and businesses. The company plans to expand the line to include cutlery and is awaiting certification for these new products.
phade® straws are already available at Sam’s Club and will soon be on shelves at Walmart. Watch this short video to see how a phade® straw completely decomposes in about 58 days.
We’re proud to have innovative companies like WinCup right here in Tucker Summit CID, bringing sustainable solutions to the marketplace while supporting our local economy.
