Yellowstone Landscape
Tucker Summit CID is happy to announce its new contract with Yellowstone Landscape for the district’s right-of-way maintenance and landscaping.

For the past 50 years, Yellowstone and its affiliates have been successfully operating throughout the southeast and have been servicing the metro Atlanta area since 2013. Cliff McCallister, the business development representative, states that Yellowstone distinguishes itself from other landscaping companies with “thorough communication, deep resources to accomplish large jobs and excellent customer service.”

You’ll be able to spot the Yellowstone crew mowing, pruning, edge blowing and picking up litter in our district throughout the year. Their other services include landscape installation, irrigation services, turf management and plant healthcare. We look forward to warmer weather when we can enjoy their landscape design and beauty.
Commissioner Robert Patrick
It’s hard to believe that three years have passed since the beginning my first term in office in 2021. As we welcome 2024, I have reflected on the county’s progress, as well as my own, and I am proud of what has been accomplished. While I have learned a great deal about the behind-the-scenes of DeKalb County and its operations and acknowledge some levels of success as a first-term elected official, I realize there are still many challenges ahead.

As a professional planner, growth and economic development will always be a priority to me. Unfortunately, DeKalb County is lagging behind other metro counties in terms of building permits, housing development, and high-paying jobs. I am honored that CEO Michael Thurmond named me as the first commissioner to serve on the Board of Directors of Decide DeKalb, as this has afforded me the opportunity to influence major development projects not only in District 1, but across DeKalb County. Although we have made progress on major developments such as Assembly Studios and PepsiCo, there is still more work that needs to be done in order to make DeKalb County more business- and development-friendly and to prepare our county for the new post-pandemic landscape.

Tucker Brewing Non-Alcoholic Beer
If your New Year’s resolution is to cut down or cut out drinking, Tucker Brewing Company is looking out for you! The brewery introduced a new non-alcoholic beer in early December, Fermentation without Representation (FWR), and made it available in time to celebrate the New Year.

The new refreshing drink is pale in color, subtly sweet with floral aromatics and pairs well with Tucker Brewing’s delectable food selection.

It’s perfect for your upcoming Super Bowl Plans!
Tucker City Council
The City of Tucker has one returning and two new council members. Earlier this month, Amy Trocchi, Vinh Nguyen and Virginia Rece were sworn into their posts during the regular city council meeting.

Virginia Rece resumes her duties for District 1, Post 2, while Vinh Nguyen takes on the duties for District 2, Post 2 and Amy Trocchi for District 3, Post 2. John McHenry, Tucker’s Assistant City Manager, was also sworn into his new position as the City Manager, following Tami Hanlin’s retirement.

Bhagat Hotels
Formerly the Stone Mountain Inn, the Bhagat Hotels (a Best Western hotel that is part of the Signature Collection of hotels) has undergone a year-long, multi-million dollar renovation.

Located at Mountain Industrial Boulevard and Highway 78, this spot was previously a stomping ground for criminal activity. However, due to the investment of time and funds, the Bhagat Hotels’ new owners have created a modern, comfortable destination for visitors and travelers and completely turned around the environment.

“Our multi-million dollar investment into Bhagat Hotels’ remodel is more than a commitment to providing exceptional accommodations, it’s a commitment to supporting the growth and vitality of Tucker and Stone Mountain,” says Bhagat Hotels COO Prem Patel.

The district is thrilled this contemporary new hospitality amenity will enhance property values and deter crime. We encourage you to visit the new hotel.
Tucker Restaurant Week
It’s nearing that time again! Yes, it’s time for Tucker Restaurant Week, February 20-25! Last year, our district’s finest restaurants were represented by Antico Pizza Tucker, Bite of Korea and Tucker Brewing Company.

Visit the official Tucker Restaurant Week website for restaurant updates and announcements! It’s going to be a delicious week!
TSCID Lighting
TSCID continues to petition property owners for permission to install additional lighting throughout the district’s corridors. Increased lighting will aid in securing and protecting residents, businesses and properties from potential criminal activity.

Learn more about the lighting project on our website and contact Larry Kaiser to sign the petition.
