Our infrastructure investments are moving forward, businesses are investing in the district and new businesses are opening their doors. Georgia Power is now in the construction phase of the North-South Royal Industrial Streetlight District project, and we’re getting closer to construction at Hugh Howell Road and Mountain Industrial Boulevard. These investments will help create safer, more efficient and better-connected corridors throughout the district.

We’re seeing plenty of business activity, too! Currey & Company recently purchased the property at 4470 Greer Circle, and Taqueria El Taco Naco has opened on Mountain Industrial Boulevard. There’s a lot to look forward to as we head into fall — keep reading to see what’s new and what’s ahead!

The North-South Royal Industrial Streetlight District project is making steady progress, with Georgia Power now in the construction phase and installation of new wire underway.

New poles are expected to be delivered in mid-November, paving the way for the next stage of installation.

Construction and installation activity is estimated to wrap up in late 2026. Once complete, the upgraded streetlighting will improve visibility and safety throughout the district.

Tucker Summit CID President Emory Morsberger, Vice President Jennifer Morsberger and Board Chairman Joe Chapman joined more than 400 business and community leaders at the Gwinnett Chamber’s Governor’s Luncheon on August 17.

The event brought together leaders from across the region to hear from Gov. Brian Kemp on Georgia’s business climate, economic development and the partnerships supporting continued growth across Gwinnett and the state.

Hugh Howell Road at Mountain Industrial Boulevard
The Hugh Howell Road intersection improvement project continues moving toward construction. Utility coordination and relocation work has been underway in preparation for the project, which will add new turn lanes to improve safety, ease congestion and enhance traffic flow at one of the district’s busiest intersections.

Some minor utility relocations and adjustments have now been completed. Other utility work is still pending as easements are secured and contractors prepare to complete the remaining relocations.

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in late September and continue through 2027.

U.S. 78 at Mountain Industrial Boulevard
The U.S. 78 and Mountain Industrial Boulevard interchange project is also advancing toward construction. Bidding has now closed, and TSCID will share another update once the winner bidder has been awarded.

The project will realign exit ramps, add turn lanes, install a concrete median and upgrade lighting to improve safety and traffic flow at the interchange.

Construction is anticipated to begin later this year and continue through 2027.

There’s a new property owner in Tucker Summit! Currey & Company has purchased the 118,892-square-foot facility at 4470 Greer Circle.

There’s a new lunch and dinner option in the CID! Taqueria El Taco Naco has opened its second Tucker location at 1861 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, bringing its family-owned restaurant and authentic Mexican flavors to the district.

Tucker Summit CID Vice President Jennifer Morsberger joined the ribbon-cutting to help welcome the team and celebrate the opening.

The new location serves longtime favorites including birria tacos, elotes and esquites, along with a few new menu items. Owner Isidoro Reyes said Mountain Industrial Boulevard stood out for its nearby businesses, steady traffic and convenient location.

We’re happy to welcome Taqueria El Taco Naco to Tucker Summit — and even happier to have another great local spot to grab a bite.

Break out the lederhosen — Tucktoberfest is almost here! Tucker Brewing Company’s ninth annual celebration returns September 19 – October 3 with two weeks of live music, games, beer and plenty of Oktoberfest fun at Georgia’s largest beer garden.

The festivities kick off Saturday, September 19, with a full day of entertainment, including live music, Tucktoberfest games and a special first for the celebration. At 4 p.m., Tucker Mayor Ann Lerner will kick-off Tucktoberfest with an inaugural keg-tapping ceremony.

The fun continues through October 3 with more live music, activities and special events throughout the two-week celebration.

Stone Ridge Event Center is inviting the community to get an inside look at its versatile event space right here in Tucker Summit.

The venue will host an open house on Sunday, September 20, from 2-5 p.m., offering an opportunity to tour the space and explore options for corporate events, meetings, celebrations and other gatherings. Guests can also connect with local event vendors, sample bites from area caterers and enjoy curated drinks.

It’s a great opportunity to get to know one of Tucker Summit’s event venues and the businesses that help bring events to life. Guided tours and exclusive promotional discounts will be available during the open house.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite and include entry into the event raffle.

The annual FODAC Golf Classic returns Friday, October 2, bringing businesses, supporters and community partners together for a day on the course in support of a Tucker Summit organization.

Held at Stone Mountain Golf Club’s Stonemont Course, the tournament raises funds for FODAC’s home medical equipment program, which provides mobility equipment to adults and children with disabilities.

Individual registration is $175, foursomes are $600 and sponsorships begin at $500. Registration includes breakfast and snacks, beverages, a catered lunch, giveaways and opportunities to win prizes.

The tournament comes during a milestone year for FODAC, which is celebrating 40 years of service in 2026!
