As we turn the corner into fall, there’s no shortage of incredible progress and momentum throughout Tucker Summit CID. In this issue, you’ll find stories that reflect the strength and innovation of our business community — from national recognition for Tucker Brewing Company to FODAC’s heroic disaster relief efforts in Texas, our businesses are making headlines and changing lives, and we’re proud to celebrate their impact.
We’re also excited to see movement on key infrastructure projects and upcoming events that continue to strengthen our position as a hub for innovation, logistics and growth. And speaking of strong leadership, I want to extend my sincere congratulations to former DeKalb County Commissioner Steve Bradshaw for his recent appointment by Governor Kemp to the State Workforce Development Board. His vision and commitment to economic advancement will no doubt benefit communities across Georgia, including ours.
As we look ahead, we’re focused on bringing even more opportunity into the district — and that’s where you come in. If you know of any vacant properties within the CID that are available for purchase or lease, I’d love to hear from you. Your insight helps us attract the kinds of businesses that fuel job creation, boost investment and keep Tucker thriving. Email me anytime at emory@tuckersummitcid.com or reply directly to this email. Thank you for your continued support!

Smoothing the Way on Mountain Industrial
The CID worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation to address and repair the dangerous potholes that developed on Mountain Industrial Boulevard. The safety of our commuters is of the utmost importance to the CID and we are dedicated to making our district an incredible place to do business.

Pedestrian Lighting Update
Thank you to the TSCID property owners who participated in the lighting petition to support the installation of new or enhanced streetlights throughout the district! The CID has secured the required number of signatures — representing 50% of all frontages within the district plus one additional square foot — and is now preparing to submit the petition to DeKalb County.
If approved, the County will begin the process of establishing formal streetlight districts. This will allow the CID, County and City to engage property owners within each district to discuss the proposed annual cost, which would appear on their property tax bill. Stay tuned for next steps.
Mountain Industrial Boulevard and Hugh Howell Road Intersection
The City of Tucker is expected to advertise construction bids this fall for long-planned improvements at the Mountain Industrial Boulevard and Hugh Howell Road intersection. This project aims to ease congestion, enhance pedestrian safety and improve overall traffic flow.
Mountain Industrial Boulevard to East Ponce de Leon Avenue Sidewalk
TSCID and the City of Tucker are collaborating to construct a new sidewalk connecting Mountain Industrial Boulevard to East Ponce de Leon Avenue. This addition will close a key pedestrian gap in the corridor, improving walkability and access for nearby businesses and employees.

New City of Tucker Economic Development Director Erica Rocker is excited to commence her new role while Tucker is on the cusp of celebrating its 10-year anniversary of becoming a city. She is eager to help Tucker Summit CID continue to expand its economic impact as a manufacturing staple in Tucker’s economy.
She reports that the City and the CID have partnered in a planned project that will widen the Mountain Industrial Boulevard corridor to accommodate dual left turn lanes on the north and southbound approaches to Hugh Howell Road. In addition, the widening of Hugh Howell Road will make way for a right turn lane on the eastbound approach to Mountain Industrial Boulevard. With less congestion at the intersection, the area will be safer for passenger car and tractor-trailer traffic flow.

Award-winning news is brewing in the district! Tucker Brewing Company, one of TSCID’s standout businesses, has earned a prestigious silver medal at the 2025 U.S. Open Beer Championship for its popular Southern Heaven Hefeweizen. With thousands of entries from across the country, this win puts Tucker Brewing and TSCID firmly on the craft beer map.
“I’m proud that Southern Heaven is being recognized on a national stage,” said Tucker Eagleson, head brewmaster at Tucker Brewing. “Our goal has always been to bring a taste of traditional German brewing to Georgia — and this medal shows we’re fulfilling that mission.”

TSCID member Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC), headquartered on Lewis Road right here in the district, wasted no time responding to early July’s devastating floods in Texas. By late July, FODAC had loaded a truck with 250 essential home medical items — including wheelchairs, hospital beds, mobility aids and more — and delivered them to flood-stricken communities through partners Project Mend and the American Red Cross.
President and CEO Chris Brand captured the heart of their mission: “Emergency response isn’t just about food and shelter. When a person loses a wheelchair or walker, they lose their freedom to recover.” The effort was bolstered by a $5,000 in-kind donation from Amazon to secure hard-to-find bariatric equipment. FODAC continues to serve communities across Georgia and beyond with dignified, equipment-focused relief.

As global shipping routes shift and tariffs continue to impact trade, Georgia’s Port of Savannah just wrapped up its second-busiest year on record. According to the Georgia Ports Authority, Savannah moved nearly 4.9 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of cargo in fiscal year 2025 — proof that despite international uncertainty, demand remains strong and Georgia continues to lead as a logistics hub.
This matters to Tucker Summit CID. With so many manufacturers, distributors and logistics companies calling our district home, the ripple effects of port growth are real. More cargo at Georgia’s ports means more opportunities for local warehousing, shipping and last-mile delivery. Our strategic location near major interstates puts TSCID businesses in prime position to benefit. As Savannah continues to scale its capacity and efficiency, Tucker Summit CID stands ready to keep goods moving, businesses growing and Georgia’s economy thriving.
