On April 21, Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 68 into law, enacting a package of tort reform measures aimed at addressing Georgia’s civil litigation system. The bill includes changes to premises liability standards and other legal procedures that supporters say will reduce frivolous lawsuits, lower insurance costs and make Georgia more attractive for business. Emory Morsberger, executive director of Tucker Summit CID, attended the bill signing alongside other business and civic leaders.
While the legislation has sparked debate on both sides of the aisle, it represents a key moment in the conversation around economic development and legal reform. Business owners across the state will be watching closely to see how these changes impact liability exposure, insurance rates and the overall business climate in Georgia.

At the heart of Tucker Summit CID is Triumph Soccer Park, home to Tucker Youth Soccer Association, a vibrant space where youth athletes grow and families gather — and it all began with a gift. The land was generously donated by H.A. Pattillo and his sons, Pat and Dan Pattillo, founders of Pattillo Industrial Real Estate and the original developers of the district. Since 1950, their vision helped shape Tucker’s industrial landscape.
Today, that same spirit of investment lives on in a park that serves thousands of players each year. From weekend practices to major tournaments, Triumph Soccer Park stands as a lasting example of how thoughtful development can bring a community together.

DeKalb County is helping shape the future of the local workforce with its Summer Youth Employment Program (DSYEP) — and that’s good news for the TSCID business community.
Through this county-supported initiative, hundreds of young people receive paid summer internships, hands-on job training and career-readiness skills that prepare them to succeed in the modern workforce. These experiences not only open doors for participants — they also contribute to a stronger, better-prepared talent pipeline for DeKalb employers.
Whether these young professionals go on to join the local labor force, launch businesses of their own or continue their education with real-world experience, programs like DSYEP are a long-term investment in the economic future of our region.
Interested in hosting a summer intern? Learn more about the program and how it’s shaping DeKalb’s workforce on the County’s website.

Georgia has long been known as a transportation hub, but as Inbound Logistics recently reported, it’s now considered one of the top logistics sweet spots in the nation. With a booming freight economy, massive infrastructure investments and a commitment to innovation, the state is attracting major players across logistics, manufacturing and distribution — and Tucker Summit CID is right in the middle of it all.
Georgia’s logistics strength comes from its seamless multimodal connectivity. From the fast-growing Port of Savannah — now the third-busiest gateway in the U.S. — to more than 9,000 miles of freight rail and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, businesses can reach 80% of the U.S. population within a two-day truck drive. That level of access is what keeps companies competitive — and it’s exactly what makes Tucker Summit CID such a strategic location.
With immediate access to I-285, U.S. 78 and Mountain Industrial Boulevard, Tucker Summit CID offers businesses fast, efficient routes to ports, air cargo, intermodal facilities and customer bases across the Southeast. Our district is home to a range of industrial and logistics companies that rely on speed, reliability and proximity to key infrastructure. As Georgia continues to lead in supply chain investment, the companies located in Tucker Summit CID are positioned to grow alongside it.

Construction is officially underway at the Rock Mountain Blvd. and Lewis Road intersection to improve safety and traffic flow in one of Tucker Summit CID’s key industrial corridors. The project, jointly funded by the City of Tucker and Tucker Summit CID, includes removing a concrete island, upgrading stormwater infrastructure and reconstructing the intersection to allow safer and more efficient truck access.
Crews have begun excavation, with the area currently marked by active work zones and safety barrels. The improvements will also include a new turn lane and striping. These upgrades are part of the CID’s continued efforts to enhance mobility and access for the businesses that rely on this critical connection.
