Emory and FODAC to Romania
TSCID President Emory Morsberger is also an active Rotarian who worked with the Rotary 6900 Disaster Relief effort to raise $150,000 to fund and ship 39 pallets of redistributed durable medical equipment (DME) and eight Stryker surgical drills to Ukraine. Partnering with Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC), 12,000 pounds of equipment will be shipped to Romania for Ukraine’s use through FODAC’s established shipping and logistics connections and expertise.

While FODAC is the largest nonprofit distributor of redistributed DME in the U.S., they have shifted 50% of their efforts to helping the Ukrainian refugees.

Emory left yesterday, June 6, to personally help deliver the supplies, which include wound care, surgical equipment and respiratory supplies, as well as, needles/syringes and 100 cots, which are going to temporary shelters for those who are now homeless as a result of the war. Thermopac and Black & Black Surgical, additional generous TSCID members, have provided FODAC with ready-to-eat meals and surgical equipment to ship to Ukraine as well. This has been the ultimate logistical mission for our CID!
“I visited Ukraine twenty years ago and met several impassioned citizens. I was impressed by their desire to be like the USA. They are now showing that, like our forefathers, they are willing to fight for their freedom.”

Following is a user-created map of territorial advances of the Russo-Ukraine War and follow Emory’s journey on his Instagram page. More information on The Battle of the Ukraine special issues can be found here.
