TSCID Year in Review
2022 was an incredible year for Tucker Summit CID! With the opening of Hugh Howell Marketplace, we saw the addition of several new businesses including Publix, ATI Physical Therapy, Buffalo Wild Wings GO, Antico Pizza, Bite of Korea, First Watch, Jersey Mike’s, The Joint Chiropractic, Piedmont Urgent Care, Scenthound and Chase Bank with many more to come! And most recently, the district gained a new brewery with Pontoon Brewing – The Lodge opening its doors last month.
Additionally, Pepsico and Prudential Overall Supply broke ground to expand their facilities, which will infuse millions of dollars into our economic development and add hundreds of jobs to our district.
We’ve also had several members recognized for their philanthropic achievements, such as FODAC raising funds and sending aid for hurricane relief and medical supplies to war-ravaged Ukraine, Link Logistics donating warehouse space to Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child and Georgia Furniture Mart’s Mike Hall receiving the inaugural Spirit of DeKalb Bill Gates Philanthropist of the Year Award.
Here’s looking at another incredible year in 2023!

Commissioner Bradshaw Update
DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw joined Wells Fargo CEO and President Charlie Scharf and Operation HOPE Founder and CEO John Hope Bryant at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome Operation HOPE to the community.
The nonprofit’s location will offer programs and initiatives that tackle economic inequality and financial illiteracy in Stone Mountain and Tucker. The Stone Mountain Wells Fargo branch will focus on resources for those who are underbanked — people without access to mainstream bank accounts or services.
A 1.619-acre former Truist location in Tucker is slated to be the future sight of state-of-the-art Operation HOPE facility in 2023 that will further allow the organization to expand its footprint and provide much-needed financial literacy programs to the district.
Learn more about Operation HOPE and its expansion in this Champion Newspaper article.
Samaritan's Purse Update
The Operation Christmas Child Processing Center has processed approximately 1.2 million shoe boxes toward its 1.6 million goal in the district’s 2000 Mountain Industrial Boulevard address. Processing will conclude later this month and shoeboxes will be shipped all over the world to children in need.

Every year,
Samaritan’s Purse collects shoeboxes filled with small gifts and necessities like hygiene products and school supplies for children in need around the world. For many children, this is their first-ever Christmas gift. Samaritan’s Purse will process more than 1.7 million shoeboxes in the donated space this year and this monumental effort will provide more than 200 seasonal jobs in our district
.

Samaritan’s Purse is an international, nondenominational Christian relief organization that provides assistance to people in physical need, including disaster relief aid.
NETWorks Big Leap
The NETWorks Cooperative Ministry began its Big Leap Expansion Campaign to help wipe out food insecurity in our community only a few months ago and has officially opened its doors this week.
NETWorks Cooperative Ministry is a Tucker-based organization established by several churches to help meet food and financial needs in the Northlake/Embry Hills/Tucker area.
Because the organization is growing, NETWorks is taking the next step with The Big Leap Expansion Campaign to move from their current space on 4th Street to 4396 Cowan Road. The new space will be a grocery store-style pantry where visitors can shop for themselves.

TSCID Projects
Thanks to the financial commitments from Commissioners Steve Bradshaw and Robert Patrick, TSCID was able to work with the City of Tucker throughout 2022 to complete extensive infrastructure repairs along Mountain Industrial Boulevard with more work to continue throughout the district in 2023.
Plans are in development for the right-of-way traffic on Mountain Industrial Boulevard at Hugh Howell Road, and design work continues for intersection improvements at East Ponce de Leon Avenue at Rock Mountain Boulevard and Mountain Industrial Boulevard at Tuckerstone Parkway. In addition, plans are expected to be submitted to the City to increase the median length on the southerly end of Mountain Industrial Boulevard by 900 feet.
Phase one of the new district-wide street lighting project has been completed with the remaining two phases slated for completion throughout 2023.
TSCID is working with Image360 to replace more than 100 street signs throughout the district.
