Tucker Summit CID works closely with DeKalb County and CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson to advocate for the infrastructure, services and policies that support our business community. On May 7, the CEO delivered her annual State of the County address, outlining the county’s priorities for the year ahead.
To save you time, we have highlighted the most relevant information for our CID business and property owners:
Economic Development Remains a Top Priority
CEO Cochran-Johnson emphasized that economic development remains central to DeKalb County’s long-term strategy. She highlighted major assets like DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, a strong workforce and nine colleges and universities that continue to attract employers and investment to the county.
Improvements to Permitting and County Services
The CEO highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize permitting systems, expand performance dashboards and redesign the county website. These upgrades are intended to make county government more efficient and easier for businesses and property owners to navigate.
$4.7 Billion Investment in Water and Sewer Infrastructure
The county is moving forward with a $4.7 billion water and sewer infrastructure plan to modernize aging systems and support future development. Reliable infrastructure is critical to attracting investment and ensuring businesses have the capacity they need to grow.

With the “big game” coming to Atlanta this summer, excitement for soccer is building across the region. Here in Tucker Summit CID, that excitement is rooted in a local asset that has been bringing families together for generations.
At the heart of the district is Triumph Soccer Park, a hub for youth athletes and families that serves thousands each year. What began as a generous land donation from H.A. Pattillo and his sons — developers of Stone Mountain Industrial Park and Tucker Summit CID’s first member — has grown into a thriving community space that hosts everything from weekend practices to major tournaments.
As fans from around the world travel to Atlanta to celebrate the beautiful game, Triumph Soccer Park is a reminder that soccer’s impact starts at the local level. Facilities like this help connect families, support youth development and strengthen the sense of community that makes Tucker Summit CID such a special place.
Whether you are attending a match or cheering from home, take pride in the local fields that help inspire the next generation of players right here in our district.

Following the City of Tucker’s approval of the North-South Royal Industrial Streetlight District in April, the long-awaited lighting project is expected to begin construction this summer.
Georgia Power estimates installation could begin around mid-July along North and South Royal Atlanta Drive, where property owners have consistently identified lighting as a top safety priority for years.
