| I wanted to briefly acknowledge that being honored with the 2022 CID Professional Excellence Award could not have happened without all of you — the CID members along with the district’s partners and public officials. It is through our relationships and our hard work together that make our district incredible and keeps our economic development and impact thriving.
No other district can boast that they are nearly at 100% capacity like we are — and that’s because of our partnerships with Plaza Security keeping the district safe, Brightview Landscaping keeping our district clean and beautiful, our infrastructure engineer Larry Kaiser keeping our district’s roads repaired and well-lit and the leadership at The City of Tucker and DeKalb County which help us facilitate the necessary services to meet your needs.
We will continue exploring cost-effective transit alternatives to get our hardworking employees to their respective employers. For the moment our Incredible Corridor on-demand, free shuttle is on hold while we assess the demand, logistics and financing for these services.
Thank you, everyone for helping me make our district incredible!

We are excited to welcome another business and brewery to our district! Pontoon Brewing officially opened its doors on Wednesday, November 16 at its Tucker location on 4720 Stone Drive. Dubbed, The Lodge in Tucker, the family- and dog-friendly facility offers refreshing brews and non-alcoholic options with an indoor/outdoor hybrid space with clear views of their numerous flat-screen TVs.
The original Sandy Springs location was founded by long-time friends and homebrewers Sean O’Keefe, Cole Brown, Tyler Cole and Marcus Powers in 2017. Their “pontoon lifestyle” and brews grew popular throughout the years, which led to their Tucker expansion.

TSCID member Link Logistics has donated 100,000 SF of warehouse space as a processing center for Samaritan’s Purse’s annual Operation Christmas Child drive at their 2000 Mountain Industrial Boulevard property this holiday season.
Every year, Samaritan’s Purse collects shoeboxes filled with small gifts and necessities like hygiene products and school supplies for children in need around the world. For many children, this will be the first gift they receive in their lifetime. Samaritan’s Purse expects to process more than 1.6 million shoeboxes in the donated space this year and this monumental effort will provide more than 200 seasonal jobs in our district.
Samaritan’s Purse is an international, nondenominational Christian relief organization that provides assistance to people in physical need, including disaster relief aid.
Collection and short-term volunteer efforts began on November 14. If you would like to donate or volunteer to help inspect and pack shoeboxes for children in need at the Link Logistics processing center, please sign up here.

| FODAC held its 2022 Golf Classic last month and raised more than $52,000 to support its Home Medical Equipment Program.
Funds raised not only help support people living with disabilities in need of HMEs, but they also support the organization’s disaster relief efforts. FODAC works with many partners to donate and deliver critical medical equipment to war-torn countries like Ukraine and areas in the wake of natural disasters such as hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico and Florida or flooding in Kentucky.
Thank you, FODAC, for your continued efforts to make the world a better place and thank you to our members who support them in this worthy cause.

NETWorks Cooperative Ministry is a Tucker-based organization established by several churches to help meet food and financial needs in the Northlake/Embry Hills/Tucker area.
Due to their growing needs NETWorks is taking the next step with The Big Leap Expansion Campaign to move from their current space on 4th Street to 4396 Cowan Road. The new space will be a grocery store-style pantry where visitors can shop for themselves.

The voters showed up and passed City of Tucker’s Public Works Referendum by a landslide! It’s only been a few days since the November 8 decision and the city has already begun executing plans to implement improvements to the public works service model and addressing the existing backlog of projects. The city will work with DeKalb County to fully transition these services by July 2023.
Combined public works services will transition to the City of Tucker on July 1, 2023. “Within the first 365 days, our goal is to prioritize and work through deferred public works maintenance and address key repairs,” said City Manager Tami Hanlin. “Now that the community has spoken, we can move forward and develop a service delivery model that will eliminate long-deferred needs, get us to a more normal level of meeting current maintenance needs, and ultimately allow us on to focus on preventive maintenance. We will reduce current repair and maintenance times by 50% by our second year of operations, while saving significant costs of operation.”
Read more about the service transition on the City of Tucker website.
Congratulations to our district representatives on their reelections!

Every 10 years, the legislature redraws the boundaries of the state districts based on figures from the Census.
The US Census prompts redistricting to ensure that each elected official is serving approximately the same number of people. The state legislature works to draw new lines to rebalance the districts based on population shifts.
The new maps represent significant changes in DeKalb County, with about 75% of voters impacted:
- The 6th Congressional District has been removed from DeKalb County. All DeKalb voters are now in either the 4th or 5th Districts.
- There have been extensive changes to the Georgia House districts. There are now 17 districts in DeKalb County. The 79th District has been removed and the 52nd and 95th Districts have been added. The other districts have been redrawn substantially.
- In some cases, the county commissioner district lines have been redrawn around municipal boundaries. The City of Chamblee is now entirely in District 1 and the City of Brookhaven is now entirely in District 2.
For more information about the new district boundaries visit the DeKalb County website.
