Bradshaw Audit Savings
Tucker Summit CID members can thank District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw for the huge tax savings they’ve experienced since 2019.
Commissioner Bradshaw recently released an audit where his 2019 tax reform saved DeKalb County taxpayers more than $132 million. At the time, Commissioner Bradshaw was the Chair of the Public Works & Infrastructure (PWI) Committee, where he worked with then Commissioners Kathie Gannon and Nancy Jester to execute the policy reform.
The reform called for all purchasing contracts in excess of $3 million to be reviewed by the Office of Independent Internal Audit (OIIA) for validating. Since the policy’s adoption in 2019, the savings speak for themselves. Well done and thank you, Commissioner Bradshaw and former Commissioners Gannon and Jester!

Pepsi Expansion
Noticed anything new along Rock Mountain Boulevard lately?

Construction has been progressing since Pepsico’s announcement of its $260 million expansion to the Tucker facility in 2022. The facility’s plans are to expand the plant by 260,000 square feet that will increase production five-fold and create 136 new jobs in our district by 2025.

Learn more about the expansion in this Decaturish article.
Commissioner Robert Patrick
Sanitation is a paramount concern for all business owners, and District 1 Commissioner Robert Patrick is dedicated to assisting with any challenges the district may encounter. Upon assuming office in 2021, he made it a priority to understand how each county department functioned. In his inaugural year, he engaged with sanitation leadership to learn about the department’s challenges and how those challenges impact the community.
During a recent meeting, a Tucker business owner showed the condition of his garbage dumpster which had become rusted and was falling apart. Commissioner Robert Patrick recognized the importance of moving quickly to address the problem so that business operations would not be impacted. The dumpster was replaced due to its condition.
To learn more about sanitation repair or replacement needs, please visit the DeKalb County Sanitation Department website (www.dekalbsanitation.com). For servicing requests related to collections, or other issues, customers should email CommercialService@dekalbcountyga.gov.

This VET 22 Suicide Prevention Procession is a campaign created to bring awareness to the 22 U.S. Military Veterans who die by suicide every day. The visualization of 22 hearses with flag draped coffins in a mock funeral procession is intended to draw attention from all Americans to help bring this travesty to an end and show the United States Veterans that their service to our great nation was not in vain.
